Why is the newly installed PC easy to get cracked?
Based on years of production and installation experience, Suzhou Nilin New Materials has analyzed why newly installed solid polycarbonate sheets crack and has identified three reasons:
Reason 1: Recycled or Recycled Materials:
Solid polycarbonate sheets that have been installed for two or three years may crack, age, and yellow. This is primarily due to small workshops using recycled materials or failing to apply a UV coating. Under normal circumstances, endurance sheets made from new materials with a UV coating can have a service life of over 10 years or even longer.
Reason 2: Thermal Expansion and Contraction:
Generally speaking, the screw hole diameter for solid polycarbonate sheets should be larger than 2-4mm, allowing for additional space.
Reason 3: Bending Radius:
The thickness of the solid polycarbonate sheets varies. If the curvature of thick sheets is too small, the mechanical strength and chemical resistance of the sheet will drop dramatically. This is to prevent dangerous stress cracking caused by exposed outer surfaces. The bending radius of solid polycarbonate sheets should be no less than 175 times the sheet thickness, and it is recommended to maintain a minimum of 200 times the sheet thickness.
